When i say "Winter", that means Steve is home...a little more than we are used to because his crews are out pushing snow while he waits for spring. His days consist of waking up at 8:30, a morning movie and then off to the office to collect the mail,do work and send out invoices....or so he says. If you ask me it is more like checking Facebook, meeting his friends, which like to call his boyfriends for lunch at the various restaurants, or more commonly, the Costco food court and then of course the most important part of his day....going to the gym. Then he is home just in time to give me crap for taking a nap while Laker naps, waits for dinner and then off to play basketball with his buddies or teams he play on. Anyone need a husband??????? I can't wait till March gets here!
On a more positive note we found out we are having a girl! Huge surprise! We were expecting another boy because, lets face it. Boy is a dominate trait in the Mortensen family. So it was quite a surprise to find out that we are having a girl! So now i have become motivated to take my christmas present out of the box...a sewing machine. I have all these glorious ideas of things i want to make and now I know the color scheme. We will have to see how that turns out.......
Christmas was fun, we spent it with both families and it was fun. It was great to see Laker's reaction this year because last year he could have cared less. As for photos, lis is what we have been up to....

YEAH! I am so happy for you and happy that you finally updated us with your cute family. I swear next time I am up we are getting together. And are you sure there is a baby in that teensy-weeny belly of yours? Miss you.
Love the new pictures. I'm so excited for your little girl. To be honest, I was hoping you'd have a boy since we seem to be on the opposite gender of everyone else every round, but little girls are so fun & I have a bunch of girl things. I have no clue what to do with a boy, so maybe you can teach me.

Laker is getting cuter by the day. He is also getting bigger too. I am so excited for you to hae a girl they are a lot funner to shop for. Plus you and Steve make such cute babies she will be just beautiful

MACH! Oh my... I thought you were having a boy too! Seriously! I am so excited for your baby girl, you know that means that we have to have another shower for you! Oh and Echo Lake... who could forget those amazing times!? Remember when Kimmie kicked me in the face on the water wienie and I got a dislocated jaw and Gordon Erickson snapped it into place!? Us girls (me, you, Kimmie, Amy, Kathleen, and Angalee) were pure and simple AWESOME!
Congratulations on the girl news! It took me a while to adjust into girl mode, but I can now officially say that my first stop in the babyGap is now the girl section. Maybe because they are smaller and cheaper clothes, but either way it's so fun to doll up girls.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and the "winter" months. Too bad she isn't going to be a winter baby so you could put Steve to work!
A girl! How exciting!! Now Laker will have a little sister to look after :) So happy for you two! And miss you guys! It was great to hang with you over christmas break :)Jay is counting down the days till the reunion!

If Laker weren't such a ladies man, I would be worried about his shoe fetish and puliing his shirt up like a girl. :) I bet he'll have fun playing dress up with the new baby girl! Congrats that is awesome. I loved your comments about your "Winter" husband I had to read it aloud to Jeremy. His response was, "I need to ask Steve for tips on what the hell I'm doing wrong in life! I work way too much!"

That is very exciting that you are having a girl, and yes, very hard to come by in this family:) Steve was pretty sure it was going to be a boy, but I know he will adore this little girl more than he could ever imagine. Hope you are having a good pregnant day!
