He Shall Be Missed

Steve and I just heard about the passing of President Gordon B. Hinckley. What a bitter sweet moment. As I think back on my life, he is really the only Prophet that I can remember. What a sweet and wonderful man. I loved how he was so passionate about the Church. He did so many wonderful things during his Presidency that most people could not do in 10 lifetimes!!! I loved to hear him speak and hear the words he had to share with us, what a treat. You can't help but want to be a better person after, he was so inspirational. I know I am going to miss his sense of humor. He always knew how to connect with his congregation and there is no better way than through laughter. I only wish that my children could have had the chance to understand his teachings during his time as Prophet.

He shall be missed, but I know he is in a wonderful place with his cute wife. Talk about an automatic ticket to Heaven!! I hope that I can be at least half the person that he was. I love this Church so much and I am so thankful to know that families can be together forever. I love the Savior and I know that this Church is true with all my heart. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon and it's wonderful teachings. Having President Hinckley pass really makes me want to live my life right and be an great example to those around me so that I to can return to live with my Heavenly Father.

Not much for January.....

This month has been pretty boring thus far.... we did go up to Park City last weekend- it snowed - not to mention, it was freezing!!!

Laker hung out with Grandpa Machin.

Oh, his new favorite toy is my whisk attachment for my hand mixer. Thats not all. He digs through all my drawers to find it and then puts it in his mouth and carries it around the house while clapping his hands. I guess I'll give him kitchen gadgets next Christmas. They get more play than all his toys combined!

Although he did re-discover one thing he got for Christmas. This one made Steve a proud papa....he figured out how to hit a golf ball with his putter, thats right, Steve finally has that golfing buddy...well...almost! I can only stay focused for 9 holes. My dad has already arranged the first lesson with Laker on the driving range....what a bunch of nerds!!!
